EJU Clubs Quality Label Initiative

EJU Quality Label RED_edited.jpg

The EJU Clubs Quality Label is awarded to judo clubs to promote and recognise high standards in judo practice and ethical development within the sport. This label, part of the Jita Kyoei 2 initiative, serves several key purposes:

  • Encouraging Quality and Consistency: The label sets out a series of quality standards that clubs must meet, ensuring consistent, high-quality training environments and facilities across all certified clubs.

  • Promoting Judo Ethics and Values: By requiring clubs to have certified Trainers and Judo Mediators in Jita Kyoei ethics and values, the label reinforces judo’s fundamental principles – respect, cooperation, and mutual prosperity – with the aim of developing not only skilled judokas but also responsible and ethical individuals.

  • Building a Network of Certified Clubs: Certified clubs are publicly recognised on the EJU and Jita Kyoei 2 websites, helping to create a trusted network of clubs committed to maintaining quality standards and embodying judo values. This visibility can attract new members who seek such standards in their training environments.

  • Encouraging Professional Development: The label also motivates clubs to train their staff as certified mediators, fostering a more knowledgeable and capable coaching team who can act as positive role models for members.
